The days are getting cooler and leaves are changing color, that can only mean one thing — picking pumpkins!

Unfortunately this summer's weather was not conducive to a good pumpkin crop, but we still had lots of fun choosing our perfect pumpkins.

Lucy set off for her first day as a kindergartener at my Alma Mata today. I was so proud of her as she held hands with her new friend, Angela, and headed off with her classmates to her new classroom upstairs.

The school still feels the same as it did when I was there many, many, many moons ago. I have such great memories of those times – I know she will love it there too!

Trix set off with backpack and lunchbox in hand to her first day at preschool today. She did very well. There were a few tears [mostly shed by her parents] but a good day overall.

We just came back from a fun-filled weekend at Story Land with our friends Megan, Todd, and Max.

Lucy was much braver than I ever expected – she went on every ride and loved them all*. She even went on the Bamboo Chutes [a flume] and the Crazy Barn [twice]. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw her getting off smiling. But her favorite was the Antique carousel.

Trixie's favorites were also the Carousel and the Farm Tractors [after we were able to ride on the green tractor, that is.]

The second day it was pretty raw and started pouring, so we went out to lunch at Glen Junction. It seemed like everyone else at the park had the same idea – the place filled up pretty quickly right after we got there [clearly, we are still members of the beat-the-rush crowd].

After a good feed, we went back home to relax and watch a movie.

The kids all had a great time sharing a room in the deluxe chalet and sleeping in bunk-beds.

snowy winter

We have had much more than our fair share of snow this year. Being true New Englanders we've made the best of it, and have gone out and played in it a lot!

New Year's day was actually warm enough for Charlotte to come out and play with us too.

The snow just kept coming down and by the end of January we've had multiple feet on the ground! The girls still love playing in it and sliding down snow-slides we've made from walk-way snowbanks.

Unfortunately, we haven't had the right consistency for snowmen yet. The forecast says 6 more inches tomorrow – there is still hope . . .

Lucy, Beatrice, and Charlotte went to see Santa yesterday. We had high hopes as we dressed the girls in their new matching red dresses and headed off to the mall.

Charlotte sat right on Santa's lap [not that she had any choice] and had lots of pictures taken. Lucy and Beatrice, though they talked big on the way there, only got as far as the picture-taking lady.

The picture taker tried her best to convince the girls to at least stand next to Santa, but they wanted no part of it. Lucy told her "no" [in no uncertain terms]. I do think that we could have convinced Beatrice, however, if her big nay-saying sister wasn't there.

Trix did accept a candy cane from Santa, but Lucy's had to go through me. I guess we'll only be writing letters again this year [Santa needs to know what to bring].

Unfortunately, there was no group picture. After the Santa visit, things started falling apart at the seams. At that point, there was no getting the girls together. [We couldn't very well put Charlotte on the floor next to the girls - she would never have stayed - besides, it's the floor at the mall (gross). And, Charlotte is just too big and squirmy for Lucy to hold.]

I am sure we will be getting a group photo of the girls in their pretty dresses - unfortunately, it just won't be with Santa.

As the leaves start to change color, you know it's time for apples and pumpkins! While we didn't get to pick apples, [we were rained out] we did get our pumpkins!! This year, we brought Charlotte with us on her first pumpkin-picking outing. Did she like it? Well, you be the judge . . .

Lucy and Beatrice, however, are old hats, and know just how to work the pumpkin patch. They had lots of fun sitting on pumpkins, picking their favorites, and pulling Charlotte around in the wagon.

Actually, after her first impression . . . big, scary, pumpkins on cold grass [not fun!], Charlotte's opinion changed. And, she went home with lots of pumpkins to decorate her stoop.

yo gabba gabba!

For Trixie's birthday, we went see Yo Gabba Gabba! live.

What a fun show it was! After a slow start . . . [not for the show itself, but for Lucy's fears], a blast was had by all.

We had great seats in the front, but apparently a little too close for Lucy's taste. The show was a bit loud and a bit flashy, so Lucy and I moved back a few rows. We still had great seats, but it wasn't quite so in-your-face. Trixie, on the other hand, loved the whole thing and wasn't phased at all by the sounds and lights.

They sang all our favorite songs, had Biz Markie's live Beat of the Day, and The Super Music Friends Show starring Mates of State.

After the intermission, Muno and Foofa walked down the aisle right next to us. Muno had stopped there for a few minutes. I really wanted to touch him, but I was afraid that Lucy would freak out [She was sitting right next to him but, fortunately, was fixated on DJ Lance Rock and Plex up on stage and didn't notice him or Foofa until they had walked by]. phew

soccer mom

It's official - I have become a . . . soccer mom [oy].

No, this does not mean I will be purchasing a mini-van or become one of those stereotypical soccer moms - though I did have the pleasure of meeting a few on the field . . .

Lucy has joined a soccer team. She was a little slow to warm up [and stayed pretty close to my side]. But by the end of the day, I was stepping further and further away and she was playing with the best of them - she stole the ball and even scored a goal!! [pretty headband and all]

It actually was lots of fun watching these little 4- and 5-year-olds, who really had no idea what was going on, kick the ball and run around the field.

After 4 1/2 years of growing her hair, we decided it was time to get Lucy's locks cut. [It really was too long - she was practically sitting on it]. Because her hair was so long and gorgeous, we just had to donate it to Locks of Love. So . . . Lucy and I made our appointments, and both got our hair chopped together.

If I'm being honest here, I was very nervous about cutting Lucy's hair. How will she take it [will she like it or be scarred for life?] Will I be cutting off all those beautiful curls - will they come back? I am happy to say, after the initial straightness resulting from the cut, the curls are returning. [phew.]

Fortunately, our hairdresser, Lisa, made it a truly enjoyable experience and really made Lucy feel very special! And, Lucy loves that the haircut makes her look older – her father and I, not so much.

After such a generous and thoughtful act, Lucy was well rewarded. Lisa let her pick out a sparkly butterfly clip and used a little flatiron on her hair too.

Then, I took her to the bookstore to pick a prize and out for an ice cream sundae.

Between the two of us, we donated 22 1/2 inches of hair.

Thank you, Lisa, it really couldn't have been a better experience - you are such a special person with a wonderful gift!! Thank you too, Auntie Megan, for the extra support!

Because a few weeks at the Cape were not enough, we spent a few more days at the beach. This time we went with NanaPat, Auntie Megan, Charlotte, and Brian. It was great sitting on the beach in the evening and making sand angels.

The beach was not limited to evenings, though - we spent plenty of days there too, playing in the surf and perfecting those drip castles.

When we were not at the beach, Lucy could not get enough of holding her little sister, Charlotte. Trix enjoyed her company too – but by running around handing her toys or showing her pictures rather than sitting quietly with her. [Those pictures were far too blurry to post.]

Thanks for letting us stay with you, NanaPat - a great time was had by all!

cape vacation

We just got back from the Cape, all relaxed and tanned.

We really could not have asked for better weather. We were able to hit the beach every day, and the girls have turned into regular beach bums. After so much time at the beach, we saw and caught lots of critters too. Among the different creatures found, there were: crabs [including, dead horseshoe crabs, a mostly-dead crab, and live hermit crabs], scallops who would open and snap shut, minnows, chubs, and a myriad of sea vegetation.

And, because of the perfect tide schedule, the girls were able to perfect their drip-castle building skills.

While we were at the Cape, Lucy played her first round of mini-golf. And I must say, played really very well. Two holes-in-one [no word of a lie.] Her grip was a little off, but clearly it worked well for her.

Finally, after about a week, the cousins arrived!! We had lots of fun with them. Grammy took all the big kids for a walk to the beach in the morning while Trix took her nap.

In the afternoon we would all go to the beach [different from the one they walked to] for swimming [the cousins are regular little fish], exploration, and castle building.

You should have seen the size of this castle when they were finished with it!

We heard Freddie really loved the beach too. Hopefully, we will get to the beach with him sometime soon!!

A great time was had by all at Grammy's beach house . . .

school's out for the summer

Lucy's last day of school was today. They had a nice little send off with songs and a froggie hat. Each graduate received a little diploma and a book to commemorate their achievements [very cute].

Beatrice cannot wait to start preschool [although, she might think she already goes . . . ]

Lucy's teachers were great and we'll miss them this summer.

Lucy has been asking for a real guitar for her 4th birthday for the last 2 years. Now she has one - just like Laurie Berkner. She was a little tentative at first, but as soon as everyone stopped bugging her, she picked it up as gave it a little strum . . .

Lucy's only other birthday request, was for Grammy to get her a princess cake. I think it's pretty safe to say, she liked it. [Thanks, Grammy!]

Lucy's Padrino Jerry and Bianca came up from Texas this weekend. Bianca bunked in with the girls, and they all had a great time on Grampy's air bed. [Thanks, Dad.]

We took Bianca on a whirl-wind tour of Boston. Right off the plane, Rob took them into Harvard Square. [There they enjoyed a little shopping and burgers at Mr. Bartley's.]

When Lucy got home from school, she helped Bianca make her first real [life-sized, that is] snowman and they had a little snowball fight. Lucy has named this one, TeddyBearSnowman [any guesses why?]

The next day, we took Jerry and Bianca into Boston. We started at the common, zipped thru Downtown Crossing, and stopped into the Old State House. We actually went through the museum - something I hadn't done since I was on a grammar-school field trip. [Lucy enjoyed the hats.] From there we went to lunch and Lucy and I left them. The tour continued on to the North End [for Mike's lobster tails], and then to the Top of the Hub.

I later met up with the group for dinner at the Summer Shack so Bianca could have her lobster. [Lobster and lobster tails where on her wish list of must sees.] I only had my phone, so the picture is very dark - I did what I could, though I think you can get the point.

On Sunday, we were off to the Basketball Hall of Fame. Another place I haven't been since I was a kid. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised at the remodel. There were lots of interactive things for kids of all sizes - even Lucy jumped for a rebound. Bianca was able to jump 9'11" [pretty impressive if you ask me].

They flew back home that night, ahead of the snowstorm.
A great time was had by all - we hope they come to visit again soon!!

Yes, they are Lakers' fans - let's not hold that against them.

first snowfall

We got our first real snowfall of the season. Plenty of snow for a snowman and sled-ride around the yard. Daddy helped Lucy make her snowman, while Mommy supplied the carrot, milk-cap eyes, hat, and scarf.

This snowman has been named, NanaPatSnowman. ["Why?" "Because it was MeganSnowman last year, Mommy."] Oh right, of course.

Lucy loved tromping through the snow and going for sled rides, Beatrice not so much. [Maybe because she got flipped out of the sled early on in the ride, and it was pretty cold out? Who knows, hard to say.]

Another successful Christmas. Santa was a generous as ever. We had a great time over the cousins' house. Genna and Vivi got a princess table where Genna went straight to styling Lucy's hair. All of the kids had fun running around playing with all of their new toys.

While Lucy is afraid of all dogs, Beatrice went straight up to Gus's crate, stuck her fingers in, and tried to pat him. She loves puppies [woof.woof.]

In true family fashion, we tried to get a group shot with all of the cousins. Poor little Freddie seems to be getting left out of a lot of them . . . when you get a little bigger and stronger, you'll be right there with all the big kids. [Trust me, Freddie, it really is safer this way.]

Lucy and Beatrice are sporting their new, matching Christmas dresses - thank you, NanaPat, they look adorable!

For Christmas, Grammy bought herself a special treat - tickets for herself, her children, and all of her grandchildren on the Polar Express!!

A local school was hosting the Polar Express as a fundraiser. They borrowed a train, decorated it with lots of lights, and the students dressed like elves. They then took us all, pajama-clad, to the North Pole. [Because we had connections, and ours was such a large group, we had early boarding and our own train car!]

On the way, we were treated to a dramatic reading of the book, Polar Express. Once we arrived at the North Pole we picked up Santa, Frosty, and Rudolph. They rode back with us while we enjoyed complimentary cookies, cocoa and a spirited sing-a-long.

I must say, they really did a great job with it - a good time was had by all! Let's hope they do it again next year.

The cousins all had a great time today. Beatrice enjoyed her first real Thanksgiving dinner. [Yummy turkey . . . mashed potatoes . . . squash . . . stuffing . . . cranberry bread . . . pie . . . ]

Auntie Janice managed to snap a pretty decent picture of our motley lot [not an easy task, I know . . . ]

After dinner, the kids all sported their new Christmas jammies from Grammy - the older kids had fun showing them off - even Hamlet got into the act!

Beatrice is one year old!

It's that time of year again and we took the girls to our favorite pumpkin patch to pick out their pumpkins. In addition to pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, they even had some funky gourds this year.

It was a beautiful, crisp, fall day and the girls had a great time making their selections. We got pumpkins for everyone including Grandma and the cats.

Can't wait to turn them into jack-o-lanterns!

11 months has really gone by much faster than I could ever have expected. Beatrice continues to be a very happy baby and finally has some more teeth. She now has 4. No, not 2 on the top and bottom but, 1 on the top and 3 on the bottom - making her look like a little jack-o-lantern. [Very befitting of a Halloween baby, don't you think? ]

Trix has also started combining sounds and signs [her version of them, anyway] to ask for things. When she sees/wants a banana she'll say "bababa" and put her 2 pointer fingers together. She'll say "meemeemee" and sign milk, and also more [which is "meemeemee" too - actually, anything she wants she'll point to and say "meememee"

She can't wait to get walking. She pulls up on everything [whether it will support her or not] and will cruise along the furniture.

The big birthday is just around the corner . . .

Lucy started preschool today.

She loved it! She was actually fine being dropped off too. [To be honest, I was a little nervous how it would go - I was prepared to leave a screaming child. Happy to report that was not the case.]

As for me, the drop off was okay. It was when I picked her up that I became a little vaklempt. To see her walking in line back from the playground . . . really got to me . . . she looked like such a little girl . . . [sniff.sniff.]

Lucy starts preschool next week. I've been getting her new school clothes washed and ready. As I was putting them away, Lucy decided she wanted to put some outfits together and try them on. [she especially likes her new tights]

Another month has flown by and Beatrice is now 10 months old.

Beatrice still continues to be a very happy baby. She loves to babble and sometimes says words. We have heard: "hi", "mamama", and "dadada", among other things. [I would love to understand what she is saying because she really thinks she is telling stories!]

She is a very busy baby, prefers to be on the move to just sitting still. [Which means, we spend a lot more time on the move too.]

Her hair is finally long enough to sustain an upnotch for more than just keeping hair off her face while eating. She still only has the same 2 teeth, but has started cutting a third one.

Can't wait to see what next month will bring . . .

Finally, after many months of planning, Beatrice was Baptized. In a very unorthodox fashion, Beatrice was able to stand on the altar. [We thought she might be walking down the aisle too, but she's not quite there yet.]

Lucy brought her baby, Grace, to be Baptized too. Grammy bought both of the babies pretty white dresses for the occasion - Thank you Grammy!

It's nice to finally have Beettris Grace, [as the Priest pronounced it] Baptized. [Even though there is no fear of Limbo any more, I am sure her grandparents are pleased.]

By the way, can anyone tell me what white stands for?

In honor of this auspicious occasion, I got some baby Jax for Beatrice. Like a true member of our family, she thoroughly enjoyed them . . . and really, why wouldn't she?

donkeys, chicks, and bubbles

We went back to visit our old friends at the farm. Of course our day started with a visit with the animals. Lucy was a little shy of the big animals and didn't want to feed them cookies*. Trix, however, got right in there, and even wanted to eat the cookies herself. Lucy preferred to entertain them by blowing bubbles.

Lucy and Beatrice both loved the baby chicks! And liked patting them too. They really are soft and fluffy.

Lucy had a great time with her old friend, Marnie. She held her hand as she took her down to see the llamas; donkey; kittens; turkeys; and of course, Lucy's favorite - the chicks.

We went to the beach for a few days. Both Lucy and Beatrice loved it!

Lucy is a regular beach bum and liked playing in the sand and water. She made lots of new friends and built all kinds of sand sculptures. She much preferred building crocodiles and water dragons to plain old castles.

Beatrice mostly enjoyed the people-watching.

month 9

This month has been a very busy one for Beatrice . . .

She has started to wave her arm to say “hi” or “bye.” And, she has started clapping and playing peek-a-boo.

Beatrice now crawls very well and nothing can stop her once she's got her eye on something [which usually ends up in her mouth].

Now, she is pulling up on everything - she can’t wait to get walking.

Everyone should know by now, how I feel about good customer service [or lack-there-of]. I have another story of phenomenal customer service that I need to share.

Grammy had bought Lucy an Oval Animal Bag [Stuffed Animal Storage and Soft Seat] for Christmas. I just thought this was a great idea and made quick use of it! We even incorporated the bag into Lucy's bed-time routine. Every night, she has an animal swap where she trades in last night's animals and gets new ones to sleep with that night.

Let me back up . . . Shortly after originally stuffing the bag, I noticed that one of the mesh windows was pulling away from the zipper. It started as a very small tear but over time, became larger and I feared that it would become something that Beatrice could get her head stuck in [not to mention, the animals would spill out of]

Anyhoo, I sent an email to the manufacturer, Boon, Inc., to tell them of the tear.

Hello customer service rep!

I received an oval animal bag as a gift for my daughter. After owning it for about a week or so, I noticed that the mesh panel on one of the "doors" is pulling away from the zipper.

I am concerned that my 7 month-old daughter will get her head caught in it. I have tried to think of ways I could repair it, but have come up with nothing. [Unfortunately, with an infant, tape is out of the question]

I would hate to think I need to take it away - it is such a great thing to have! We like to sit on it while reading stories, then my older daughter [3] likes to trade in stuffed-animals every night before bed and chooses a new sleeping buddy.

I do own and LOVE many of your products. And, they are always on the top of my gift-giving list.

I must say that cutting out the panel was a real leap of faith - what if they did not replace the bag? I would not just have a small hole but a large gaping one . . . and, we [I] really love this bag!

He is super cute and they just couldn't get enough of him.

Lucy went on her first train ride today. She really liked taking the train/subway [though it may have been a little longer than it needed to be]. Her favorite part of taking the train was, "sitting on the green seat." [Really? You'd think her favorite part would be something a little more novel than that . . . ]

Anyhoo, we took the train to see the They Might Be Giants kids show. They really put on a fun show! Much different than Laurie Berkner, but just as enjoyable. They even brought out broom to sing [of all things] "I Am Not Your Broom." I loved the live version of "Seven Days Of The Week (I Never Go To Work)" they even brought out a special guest to play trumpet [who's name I cannot remember - but he was great - and either goes/went to Berklee].

Lucy loved the show and enjoyed dancing in the aisle. Daddy got her another concert t-shirt. [This one is really cute - I wish they had it in adult sizes. I will have to get a picture of her wearing it sometime.]

My only criticism would be that it was a little loud . . . is that just my age talking, or should we be more careful of their young, delicate ears? Either way, I can assure you, we'll be at the concert next year! [Maybe sporting ear plugs?]

Auntie Megan arrived today with a t-ball set. Lucy loved learning to play baseball and even gave Auntie Megan instructions on how to hit the ball, while she fielded.

I can't believe another month has flown by. Perhaps it's all the excitement of firsts, or maybe the lack of sleep . . . hard to say.

Anyhoo, Beatrice is 7 months old. She is still a big baby - off-the-charts for height and 90th percentile for weight. She is able to stay sitting [that is, until her head gets too heavy and tips her over] and is trying desperately to crawl. She does manage to move around. With a series of rolling and scootching, she manages to get where she wants to be [of course, that is usually a place she sees something small to put in her mouth]

I'm looking forward to seeing what this month brings . . . maybe curls, teeth, a good night sleep?

I must admit, although I was very proud of Lucy, I felt a little sad as she drove away waving out the car window.

I think the planets must have been aligned yesterday. Lucy spent the whole day in big-girl underpants [after a 6 month hiatus], and used the potty every time she needed to go.

Then, as a cake-topper, Trixie slept from 7:30 pm 'til 6:00 am [trick-or-treat!]

Today Lucy was very adventurous at the playground.

Maybe it was that she could ride the big girl swing all by herself that she realized there were lots of other things at the playground she could do too.

Usually, Lucy is very cautious - but not today. I let her go . . . and she had a blast!!

Of course I was there with an extra hand, should she need one . . .

We've all got colds and I like the old adage that you've got to feed it. Besides, I think that babies sleep a little longer w/a nice full belly [and Lord knows, we all could use some sleep].

Trixie enjoyed her first meal of rice cereal and Lucy felt like an important helper by feeding her. Lucy became very annoyed that we were interrupting her work by making her stop to look at the camera.

Grammy took Lucy, Beatrice, and their cousins to an American Girl® Bitty Baby party.

All the big girls brought their Bitty Babies and had "tea" with them. Lucy's is the only one w/a name other than Bitty - hers is Grace.

Genna and Vivi got right into the circle for story-time but Lucy preferred to stay back on her chair at the table - where it was safer. [Basically, story-time was a big sales pitch, but the girls had no idea and enjoyed it]

After the party, Grammy bought each of the babies a new outfit.

When we got home, Lucy changed Grace into her new outfit and read her the book that came with it.

A good time was had by all. Thanks Grammy!

We celebrated Lucy's 3rd birthday with the family this weekend. The cousins gave Lucy a new game, Elefun, and boy is it f-u-n. The girls loved catching the butterflies in their nets - Lucy hadn't quite gotten the concept that she could move the net to where the butterflies are and not just sit there holding it steady. [Though, she still did catch her fair share with that technique.]

Henry preferred to eat cake.

After yet another snowstorm, Lucy and I went out and made a snowman. [Actually, it was still snowing at the time] Because the snow was so light and fluffy, we chose to make the snowman sitting down rather than the traditional standing snowman.

Lucy named the snowman Megan Snowman. Not sure why, it certainly doesn't look like Megan . . .

Today Lucy and Daddy had to dig it out of a few more inches of snow. Megan Snowman is still looking good!

We took Lucy to see Laurie Berkner. What a great show!!

We all had fun - Lucy loved dancing, acting out the songs in her special interpretive way, and singing along! Lucy got her first concert t-shirt and one of the shaky eggs that the chicken Laurie knows laid. She loved shaking it fast, slow, and all around.

If Laurie ever comes to a town near you - I highly recommend the concert!!

It was time for another trip to the Burlington Mall to see the real Santa. No surprise Lucy had no interest in sitting on his lap – or even looking at him for that matter [she still got a candy cane for the effort though]. Beatrice, however, had no choice – but was none less pleased.

Beatrice did finally stop crying – she must have just wanted a cuddle with Santa.

We had a fun visit with Vivi and Henry yesterday [Genna opted to stay home and rake leaves with Daddy]. Lucy was a very gracious host and shared her baby sister with her cousins.

The last time they visited Lucy was very protective and would not let them near Beatrice. She went into karate mode stiff arming and kicking them away.

We have been trying to get Lucy to go down the slide all summer long. For whatever reason, she had no interest in it. Until . . . this week.

Maybe she was waiting for the right time? Maybe she was showing off for her little sister? Who knows. Anyhoo, she finally went down the slide and LOVED it! She went down every slide in the playground - big and small.

Grampy took her a few days later and she was just as interested in the slide. Grampy had his new camera and got lots of cute pictures of Lucy and her new found love.

We took Lucy to our favorite "pumpkin patch" to choose our jack-o-lantern pumpkins. This year, we were lucky enough to meet up with Sebastian. The kids had a great time picking out pumpkins, showing each other the good ones, pulling the pumpkins around in wagons, and having their own wagon rides.

We went home with pumpkins for everyone [including Baby Boo] and an extra bonus one for Lucy. Now to get carving . . .

fall festivities

It's that time again, and we went apple picking with lots of Lucy's friends.

We tried a new place this year. I didn't think a tractor ride was the best idea for a 35 week pregnant woman, so we chose an orchard with an optional hay ride. This place did not disappoint - a short walk to the orchards, plenty of apple varieties, barn animals, pumpkin patch, tractor to sit on, hay ride, and snacks - cider, caramel apples, doughnuts, and hot dogs. [What more could you ask for?]

Upon arrival, we loaded up Lucy's red wagon with snacks, jackets, bags, and a the occasional kid and headed into the orchard. The apples had suffered a little hail damage this summer but were still juicy and delicious. Nothing beats a just-picked apple!

A good time was had by all and I was happy to get my cider doughnuts – which I had been craving all summer [I guess that's to be expected being pregnant with a fall baby.]

first concert

We took Lucy to see her first concert today - the Alphabet Rockers.

They were pretty good. We liked the songs but thought there was a bit too much banter/audience participation between them. Lucy would just be getting into the music - start clapping and dancing - when the song would end and more chatter begin. She'd then start to lose interest until the next song started - poor girl just wanted to get her dance on.

I understand what they were trying to do, seeing that the average age of the audience was 3 and attention spans are short, but I think the kids would have been fine with a string of a few songs before the next group activity.

It was fun to watch all the little kids getting into the music and join in with the audience participation sections. But I must admit, most of the parents were driving me nuts. [I think that many of them just forgot that they were in a place with tons of other little kids and their parents.]

All-in-all, we had a great time and we'll be sure to attend more concerts in the future.

Lucy helped me make calzones for dinner last night. She had a great time rolling the pizza dough and shaping it into snowmen and Santa Claus. Then I showed her how to make a winter scene by sprinkling the flour down over her hands and the sculptures.

Something makes me think I'll be cleaning up flour for a while . . .

Lucy had a great time with her cousins – she watched them jump around in the bouncy castles, she watched them climb on planes – and, finally joined them inside some of the biggest trucks!

Sawyer had his 3rd birthday party Pump It Up [the inflatable party zone]. It was basically a room full of different types of bouncy castles and slides. It looked like lots of fun and I couldn't wait to jump around w/Lucy and the kids. Lucy, however, preferred to ride around in the red, plastic, Little Tykes car.

After about an hour of jumping around [or sitting in the car as the case may be] it was time for cupcakes and ice cream. Lucy chose the seat right next to the birthday boy.

Then after the party, Lucy got to spend some quality time with her favorite baby, Hannah, while Sawyer took a nap. [I think Hannah might like Lucy too.]
